Individual counselling for men

Men’s counselling.
Room to talk.

Individual counselling for men with Yousif Farag, Registered Psychotherapist. We work on stress, anxiety, relationship concerns and the pressure of everyday responsibilities.

You may know exactly what you want to work on, or you may simply know that something needs attention. We can begin there.

What you can expect

A place to be heard.

We work at a pace that allows you to explain your experience and consider what would be useful.

  • A clear discussion of your concerns
  • Goals shaped around your circumstances
  • Practical work between conversations

Areas of focus

What we can work on.

Your circumstances shape the work. Common concerns include:

  • Stress, worry, and difficulty switching off
  • Self-doubt, perfectionism, and fear of failure
  • Anger, withdrawal, and recurring conflict
  • Communication in marriage and family relationships
  • Changes in work, relationships, or responsibilities

How I work

Understand the pattern.
Try a different response.

We look at what happens before, during, and after a difficult moment. That may include what you tell yourself, what you feel in your body, and how you respond to the people around you.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can help us examine thinking and behaviour. Family Systems Therapy helps us consider the relationship patterns and roles that affect your experience. We choose the tools that fit the concern you bring.

Alongside conversation, we may agree on a practical exercise or a change to try between sessions. We review it together and adjust the work as needed.

The first session

You don’t need
a prepared story.

We begin with what feels important to you. I will ask questions to understand your circumstances, explain how counselling works, and discuss possible goals.

I can offer observations, questions, and practical tools. We work together on decisions that fit your values and circumstances.

The number and frequency depend on your needs, goals, and how the work develops. We discuss this together and review it as we go.

Yes, if you would like to. We discuss what that means for you and how it relates to your goals.

Yes. Couples counselling is a separate service for partners attending together.

Virtual appointments are available. Ask about current availability and whether counselling can be provided where you are located.

Ask about the current fee and session length when you enquire. If you plan to use insurance, check whether your plan covers services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist.

Talk about what’s been difficult.

Request a consultation to ask about counselling and whether the service fits your needs.
